Eric Bana Survives Crash

Action star Eric Bana has crashed his car into a tree while competing in the Targa Tasmania rally.

Bana's immaculately-restored 1974 Ford XB coupe, similar to the one Mel Gibson drove as the Interceptor in Mad Max, over-shot a corner on a high-speed stage about 2pm.

The actor was lucky to walk away unhurt from the accident, which had spectators drawing parallels with the fatal crash that claimed the life of motor racing legend Peter Brock last year.
