Ford Falcon XW GTHO Phase 2 Auction
Will be interesting to see what this fully restored 1970 XW GTHO Phase 2 fetches when it comes up for auction in New Zealand on June 20th.
The car was bought new in NZ by Ernie Sprague in 1970 and was road tested by Auto News Magazine in September 1970. The car was raced in the South Island by Ernie Sprague, then sold to and raced by Pat Monaghan. The third owner was John Gillard who also circuit raced the GTHO. The car eventually ended up with a collector in Auckland where it was stored for 25 years and not driven. The car was purchased by its current owner in 2001 and was stored by him until 2007 when he began a full 2 year rotisserie restoration. This car has been meticulously restored with no expense spared and is a collectors showpiece. Is June/July Classic Driver Magazine Cover Car.
