The original Mad Max movie starred Mel Gibson with a jet black 1973 XB Ford Falcon GT coupe-based Interceptor.
Max’s yellow Interceptor was a 1974 Ford Falcon XB sedan with a 351 CID Cleveland V8 engine.
The Big Bopper was also a 1974 Ford Falcon XB sedan with a 302 CID. The March Hare was a 1972 Ford Falcon XA sedan.
Max’s black Pursuit Special was a limited GT351 version of a 1973 Ford XB Falcon Hardtop.
Two of the Mad Max Interceptor concepts unveiled by Ford and Top Gear back in March 2011 have been constructed as 1/4 scale models. They will be on display at the Melbourne International Motor Show from July 1 to 10, 2011.
